Getting Started with Amnic
This guide walks you through activating your Amnic agent workforce. Whether you are working individually or as part of a team, these steps connect your cloud environment to the platform so your agents can start diagnosing costs, resolving issues, and building reports.
The entire process is designed for speed; most users connect their AWS account and start collaborating with the Tasks within minutes.
1. Choose Your Plan: Individual or Team
When you sign up, you begin by selecting the type of access you want:
Individual Plan
This option is for users who want to explore the platform on their own. After sign-up and verification, you proceed directly to connecting your AWS account.
Team Plan
This option is for organizations that will collaborate inside Amnic. Once you select the Team Plan, you can either join an existing organization or create a new one.
Note: Both plans include a 7-day free trial with no upfront payment required. You can explore the full platform, Insights Agent, Reporting Agent, and system reports, before deciding to continue.
2. Create or Join an Organization
An organization is your workspace in Amnic. It holds your cloud integrations, members, agents, and reports.
Join an existing organization
If the platform finds public organizations associated with your domain, you can request to join one.
The organization’s admin receives your request
You may see a “Pending Approval” state while waiting
You can resend a reminder to the admin if needed
Once approved, you gain access to the organization workspace
Create a new organization
If you prefer to start fresh, or if no organization fits your needs, you can create your own.
Organization names must be unique and under 100 characters
Validation occurs immediately and shows inline errors if needed
After creation, you are moved to the AWS connection step
Domain behavior
Amnic supports having multiple organizations under the same domain. You can create a new one even if others already exist.
3. Invite Your Team (Team Plan only)
If you created an organization under the Team Plan, you can invite others to join.
To invite members:
Open Settings → Members
Select Invite People
Enter the email address
Send the invitation
If the email domain does not match your own, the platform displays a warning but still allows you to send the invite.
Invited users receive an email to accept and enter your organization.
4. Connect Your Cloud Account (AWS)
After sign-up or organization setup, you are guided to connect your AWS account. This step is required before any agent features can be used.
You will see a Connect AWS Account prompt.
All other features remain disabled or greyed out until AWS is connected (except invites for Team Admins).
Available connection methods
Amnic currently supports the following AWS connection paths:
New CUR – Creates a new Cost and Usage Report in your AWS account (recommended)
Existing CUR – Use an already configured CUR (requires entering specific details)
Cost Explorer (CE) – Connect using CE data if preferred
Note: AWS is currently the only available integration. Support for Azure, GCP, and other platforms will be added soon.
What to expect during connection
The process is straightforward:
Amnic shows you what data it collects
You're redirected to the AWS Console to create or configure resources
A loader appears while Amnic waits for the setup to complete
Once successful, you see a "Connected" status with your AWS Account ID and timestamp
The system also handles cases like failed stacks, insufficient permissions, duplicate connections, and user-initiated aborts.
5. Start Collaborating Immediately
You don't have to wait for data to load.
Instant Access: As soon as the connection is live, the Tasks begins working with Cost Explorer data. You can start solving problems and asking questions right away.
Background Intelligence: If you connected using a CUR method, Amnic continues ingesting the detailed billing dataset in the background. Over the first 10–12 hours, the system deepens its understanding of your environment, unlocking richer, more granular insights automatically.
6. Solve Your First Problem
The Tasks is your starting point. Simply describe what you're trying to solve, and the system interprets your intent, applies the right logic, and presents a clear answer, augmented with reasoning and visualizations.
Example prompts:
Understanding spend
“Help me understand my month-to-date cloud spend and show how it is distributed across major cost categories.”
“Evaluate how my current spend compares with last week and highlight where the biggest movements occurred.”
Finding cost drivers
“Identify which services or workloads are contributing most to my rising compute bill.”
“Trace yesterday’s cost increase back to the specific resources or deployments responsible.”
Investigating spikes
“Analyze the sudden jump in storage cost and surface the buckets or storage classes behind it.”
“Review the weekend spend pattern and flag any anomalies, along with contributing operations or resources.”
Trend and pattern analysis
“Chart my compute cost trend for the last 30 days and call out areas where usage deviated from expected patterns.”
“Compare this month’s infrastructure spend with the previous period and pinpoint the dimensions with the highest variance.”
The Tasks treats each prompt as a problem to solve, not just a question. It interprets your intent, applies the right analytical capabilities behind the scenes, and returns contextual, structured results.
7. Build Reports with AI
When you’re ready to share your findings, the Reporting Agent is your dedicated analyst.
You can simply ask the Reporting Agent to build one for you from scratch.
System Reports: Your agents also prepare standard views automatically. Access the KPI Dashboard and FinOps Benchmark immediately to see your cost posture without any manual setup.
